Shopify Build w/ Products
What it will cost
The Shopify Basic Build with Products package starts at $1,999 (+ GST), that is if all the information is provided as outlined below and in a timely manner.
Payment schedule is as follows;
- 50% deposit ($999.50 + GST) to secure a date
- 30% payment ($599.50 + GST) once site is sent for first review
- 20% balance ($400 + GST) once site goes live
What is included
In order for your Shopify project to run smoothly, these are the things that you are responsible for providing (more details can be found below);
A Shopify build with products includes;
- A theme of your choice (extra charges will apply for a paid theme)
- Your logo and branding added
- About Us, Contact, FAQ's, T's & C's and Delivery pages (content to be provided by client)
- Linking to domain (domain provider login required)
- Linking to Instagram and Facebook (login details required)
- Adding of Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics account (to be provided)
- Setting up taxes and adding tax rates
- Setup of owner account and staff account/s
- Adding payment provider/s
- Drafting of all notifications (orders, shipping, customer accounts)
- One product upload limited to 150 products (upload file to be completed by client)
- Adding of product photos (edited, resized photos to be provided by client)
- Adding of blog posts or articles limited to 5 posts (content and images to be provided by client)
- All pages, products and posted optimised for on page SEO
If you would like to add all the content and products yourself you need the Shopify Basic Build Package, if you want me to write content and product descriptions and resize your pictures, you need the Shopify Bells and Whistles Package.
What I need to get started
This page will give you a head start on compiling and collating all the bits and pieces that I need to build your site. Once all of these items are ready to go, I will lock in a start date, timeframe and a go live date that works for both of us!
Your thoughts on themes
It helps if you have a theme in mind, if you've seen a website that you like the look of, or you at least know what functionality you are chasing. The Shopify theme store is a good place to start when looking at themes.
If you don't find what you're looking for, you can step up to Theme Forest. There are a lot (and I mean a lot) of Shopify themes available on there. It pays to filter using the options on the left as it can be overwhelming otherwise.
Access to a Dropbox or Google Drive
It's much easier for me to work with all of the information in one place instead of combing through my inbox trying to find all the documents. It is also easier for you to see what you have supplied and what needs to be supplied.
I will set you up a Dropbox Folder or Google Drive (whichever you prefer) and send you the link and access to the folder so you can tap away, adding the things from your list at your lesuire.
Use of Asana
As part of my new and improved onboarding process, you will be sent a checklist of all the things that need to be added to the Dropbox or Google Drive. You will also be sent a link to an Asana project.
Work on your site build won't start until all the required info is available in the Dropbox or Google Drive, as per the timeline in Asana. Then a deposit is required and a date is locked in for your site build to be completed.
Logo and Brand Guidelines
More is more in this case - so please add everything that you got from your graphic designer. This means that I can add logos or word marks where they best fit and I can edit fonts and button colours to better reflect your branding.
If all you have is a logo, that is OK too! The most important thing is a logo without a background so that it looks sleek and sophisticated on the website!
The package price includes the uploading of photos that are uniform in size and optimised for use on a website (usually 800px*800px but no bigger than 2048px*2048px). I can resize your pictures so they are suitable for use on the site but there will be an additional charge for this.
Product photos need to be in .jpg or .png format and the files need to be renamed to match the product names so these can be easily matched. Photos cannot be embedded in other documents or provided via link to a website.
If you are using a photographer to take your product photos, your photographer will be able to provide you with a file containing your original images, and a file with images resized for website use and cropped to your preferred dimensions.
If you are taking your photos yourself, you will need to find a programme to edit, resize and crop your images. If you are using images from suppliers, you will need to check the sizing and dimensions of these before uploading them.
Images under 20MP can be uploaded to Shopify, but in order for your site to run effectively, they will need to be resized once they are online - I am happy to show you how to do this if you'd like to move forward with this option.
Life hack: I take my product images on my phone and edit them using Instagram - I find the edit options easy to use, and Instagram automatically makes them square and compresses them for me.
For stores with up to 30 products, I am happy to proof and edit product descriptions and add keyword rich content as appropriate. For larger inventories, you can choose to pay extra for me to do this work.
If you have written your own product descriptions, these will need to be added to the product template file (a simple Excel spreadsheet that I'll provide), you're welcome to provide these in a Word document, but additional charges will apply.
I'll need your Facebook and Instagram login to connect these sales channels (so you can tag products on Facebook on Instagram and in your stories), so you'll need to be OK with handing these over.
I also need your Instagram login to connect your Instagram feed so that it shows on your home page and looks pretty. Alternatively I can give you instructions on how to connect these yourself.
Product Upload File Template
I will provide you with a simple Excel worksheet to add your product information too. This includes, product names, brand names, different colours or sizes (if applicable), RRP, sale price (if applicable), stock levels and cost price (for reporting purposes).
There are examples in the worksheet, but I can talk you through how to complete the worksheet if you need me to. If you would rather provide all of the information in a Word document that is OK by me, but this will incur additional charges.
There are some things to consider when adding product details to the upload template as information will be shown exactly as it is in the spreadsheet. I have put together some tips and tricks here.
This package price includes one product upload, this upload is limited to 150 products (with photos). If you require more than 150 products to be uploaded, or need to add more products once the first upload has been completed I am more than happy to assist, but there will be additional charges for this.
Unfortunately I am unable to accept responsibility where the product template has been completed incorrectly (eg: the wrong price has been added or incorrect stock numbers are used). I can correct any information but there will be additional charges incurred to cover the extra time.
I need your website content in a Word document in the Dropbox with your images, product upload file and brand guidelines and logos. Website content includes all the wording for your;
- About page
- Delivery & Dispatch
- Returns Policy
Shipping & Delivery
Along with the content for your site I need to know the countries that you will ship to and how much you will charge for shipping to each country or region as well as the free shipping threshold for each country or region. This information can be added to the Word document with the web content above.
Business & Bank Account Details
In order to activate Shopify Payments (so that payment can be captured on the website) I need to know your business structure (sole trader, partnership or company) and your NZBN if applicable as well as your date of birth and the business bank account details.
This package includes the adding of up to five blog posts, articles or recipes. The content for these must be provided in a Word document, and any images for these posts must be also added to the Dropbox in a size that is suitable for web use (usually 800px*800px).
I can assist with re-writing blogs or articles to make them keyword rich for SEO purposes, but this may incur additional charges. I am happy to add more than five posts, but (depending on the extra work required) this may incur additional charges.
